Sticks and stones . . .

Even friends aren’t perfect. We are judging each other all the time. A dismissal here, a cynical remark there, it goes on all day long, ever so subtly, but happening nevertheless.

. . . but names will never hurt me. If friends understood that cynicism hurt themselves more than the other it would become a hot potato.

The enlightened one said, “Nothing is more harmful to the self than cynicism.”
